1 of 2 - Time does not stand still on the Loop!

Sunrise at anchor - Illinois River, behind Quiver Island
I can't believe how fast time goes by! We are now traveling down the Illinois River - we've traveled quite a bit since I've updated the blog. We've crossed Lake Michigan, spent over a week in Chicago, encountered tows and barges on the inland rivers, traveled 1038.6 KMs (just in September!) and met up with old and new friends. This is still a grand adventure!!!

East Shore of Lake Michigan - It's an amazing place. The harbors and towns all have something interesting to see or visit. The Entrances to the harbors all have navigation aides and lighthouses... I think I succeeded of taking a few interesting photos with my phone. From Charlevoix, we stopped at Leland, Frankfort, Ludington, Grand Haven, and St-Joseph (Benton Harbor) Michigan, before crossing over to Chicago on what turned out to be the perfect day to do so.

We had a very smooth crossing and our first sight of Chicago was magical. We could see the city skyline come out of haze. We were amazed at the sight, it's very impressive.

We spent over a week in Chicago, we were surprised by how much there was to see and do and how safe we felt... Truly a city to visit at least once. While we were there we visited Navy Pier, did a Hop On Hop Off bus tour, did the Chicago Architecture boat tour, visited the Shedd Aquarium, and walked and biked KMs... and we still did not see everything we wanted to. We needed to start down the Rivers.
